Thai Massage or Oil Massage: Understanding the Difference

Thai massage and oil massage offer different treatment experiences. Traditional Thai massage often includes assisted stretches and rhythmic pressure, usually with the client wearing comfortable clothing. Oil massage generally uses massage oil and flowing strokes on the skin.

Which experience might suit your preferences?

  • Thai massage: may appeal if you prefer assisted movement and stretching. Tell your therapist about mobility limits and preferred pressure.
  • Oil massage: may suit people who prefer a more continuous, flowing massage with oil.

Neither style is automatically right for everyone. Discuss your needs with the therapist and choose based on comfort, preferences and any advice from your healthcare professional.
